The Process Custodians Group (PCG), one of the SEA governance structures that are in place to ensure that the SEA process is fair and rigorous, convened for the first time on 22 July, 2015 at CSIR in Pretoria.
The PCG is a key innovation in the SEA, designed to ensure that it is independent, thorough and balanced, and consists of 16 representatives drawn approximately equally from government, NGOs, the private sector and the research community. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and confirm the PCG’s role as a SEA process oversight group, and provide an overview of the SEA approach and methodology.
